Graduation Ceremony - Cohort 3
Eight weeks ago, we officially kicked off the 3rd cohort of our Kubernetes Bootcamp. We had a large number of registrations, and after weeks of screening, technical tests, and interviews, 30 exceptional participants were selected and admitted into the DevOps as a Service (DAAS) Bootcamp.
Throughout the program, we met weekly with our amazing mentors, who engaged the mentees in both theory and hands-on sessions across core and advanced DevOps and Kubernetes topics. These included Kubernetes fundamentals, operators, controllers, CRDs, Kubernetes security, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, GitOps using ArgoCD, and observability using OpenTelemetry and Datadog.
The bootcamp was deeply practical and project-driven. Participants built backend services using Golang, infused security best practices across their applications, and added full instrumentation to capture logs, traces, and metrics. Using Datadog, they were able to trace requests end-to-end, visualize application behavior, and quickly pinpoint performance bottlenecks and errors within the system.
They also created an Amazon EKS cluster following industry best practices, deployed applications to the cluster, configured multiple ingress resources, and set up DNS records such as A-records and CNAMEs. By the end of the program, the mentees had successfully built and deployed a fully functional application from ideation through to production.
From back-to-back lectures and project presentation sessions to assignment defense classes, the mentees now have a solid and practical foundation in Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices; one they can confidently build upon in their careers.
We are wrapping up this cohort in style with our graduation ceremony, and we are truly honored and delighted to welcome the distinguished Dotun Adekunle, a seasoned technologist, who will be speaking to the mentees and offering invaluable guidance on navigating their career paths. This will take place tomorrow, 20th December 2025. Tomorrow will also be the moment we unveil the DAAS Mentee of this Cohort; the standout performer who demonstrated exceptional growth, commitment, and excellence throughout the program; while also recognizing and appreciating everyone who contributed to making this cohort impactful, rewarding, and memorable.
